D5 Studio was established in 2001 in Beijing, China. At present time, D5 has about 100 employees and is led by internationally known media expert Gareth Chang. D5 engages in producing high-quality animations with all production completed in-house. D5’s primary business is creation and production of animation pictures. D5 obtained its license for animation production from Beijing Municipal Bureau of Radio and Television on September 20th, 2005. D5 has produced two successful animation TV series, Veggie Baby and Penguin Clan. At present time, D5 has the capacity to produce 1000 minutes of cartoon series and also 50 minutes of animation movies per year, with capacity increasing each year. D5 has several related teams allowing for pre-production, production, and post-production in a fully integrated process.
  D5’s main business includes animation production and maintains copy right protections on its original productions, and publishes its contents with its partners through different media including TV, movies, DVD, cell phone, MP4 and internet.
  D5 grants licenses to different companies which produce different promotional items including toys, games, DVD, VCD, CD, books as well as theme park items. D5 has secondary operations in training, advertising and web site development.
  D5 produced 52 episodes of the TV series Penguin Clan in 2007 and the Penguin Clan has been shown on CCTV Children Channel during the 2008 Spring Festival Penguin Clan was awarded the Top 10 Excellent Animation in 2008. This coveted award was presented by SARFT
  D5 will produce in 2008 two animation TV series including 52 episodes of Penguin Clan II running 1040 minutes and a new animation TV series called Adventure in Forbidden City. In 2009, D5 will enter into the cartoon movie market. D5’s process matches or surpasses all international standards for animation design and production.
  D5 has been praised by all partners including their TV stations in different regions throughout China.
